Doctrinal Statement: I believe that Holy Scripture is the inspired and inerrant Word of God  and the final authority regarding Christian doctrine and practice. I appreciate the systematic presentation of biblical principles found in the historic creeds and confessions such as the Apostles creed, Nicene creed, Thirty-Nine Articles (1571), Westminster Confession (1646), London Baptist Confession (1689), New Hampshire Baptist Confession (1833), and Baptist Faith and Message (2000).

Personal Testimony of Conversion: I was raised by Christian parents who led our family to faithfully attend church every Sunday and Wednesday. As a result of God’s grace, I prayed to receive Christ as my personal Savior at the age of six. Although my conversion was early and I was baptized at age eleven, Christ’s lordship in my life came much later. During my senior year of high school at a church youth event I surrendered control of my life to Him. The next year, as a freshman at Samford University, I entered discipleship training with an upperclassman and became involved in Campus Outreach ministries. It was during this time that I began to walk with God. I learned how to follow Jesus through personal bible study, prayer, and through the challenges of life that drew me to greater dependence upon Him. Following my sophomore year, I attended Campus Outreach’s Summer Beach Project in Panama City Beach, Florida, which afforded me continued discipleship and evangelism training. My time at Samford served as the foundation for a lifetime of drawing closer to God and learning to live in the power and direction of the Holy Spirit. My desire is to be sanctified in Christ—that all of my thoughts, words, and actions may glorify Him, and that I may lead others to know the Lord and walk in the wondrous power of his grace.

Credentials: I lead the worship and music ministry at Bethany Baptist Church and serve on the voice and piano faculty at the Sacred Heart School for the Arts in Louisville, Kentucky. I am the recipient of two degrees from The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary: the Master of Church Music (voice concentration) and Doctor of Musical Arts (voice major with secondary areas  in choral conducting and musicology). I reside with my wife and two daughters in Crestwood.
